Donald Trump Jr.'s worst moments of 2019 (so far)

Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of the president, is a bad take machine. And just like his father, he's been busy tossing his share of cringeworthy tweets and questionable memes into your timeline.

Sure, the year is only halfway done, but Junior's cup runneth over. So much so that we've rounded up 9 of his most awkward moments thus far.

We shudder to think what else 2019 has in store for him -- and for us.

1. Saturday What Live?

Saturday Night Livehas proved to be something of a successful comedic foil for the Trumps, with just about everyone in the family getting their own satirical send-up. You would think Don Jr. would know that SNLis the accepted shorthand for the popular show. And, yet, apparently he does not. In a tweet referencing the show, he called it "S&L," which brings to mind the savings and loans scandal of the late 1980s.

2. Patriotism is a flag pin

Junior loves memes. LOVES them. Just like his dad! He can't resist sharing them even when they wind up biting him in the ass. Take, for example, the meme he shared that lambasted dozens of congresswomen who were wearing white ahead of the State of the Union. The caption read, "Not one American flag pin among them," as if that is the only way to love one's country.

It didn't take long for people to come up with photos of the Trump family, including ones taken at the very same State of the Union speech, without those same American flag pins.

Truly a dark day for pin lovers everywhere.

3. A bear-y scary Valentine's Day

What two consenting adults do in the privacy of their own home is no one's business. But when you share it to Instagram, prepare to be judged. Case in point: Donny's romantic Valentine's Day dinner with his girlfriend, former Fox News commentator Kimberly Guilfoyle. It appears to be a normal until you realize they dined alongside a number of large stuffed teddy bears which seems... excessive.

Add that red lighting and you've got yourself some Grade A murder bear nightmare fuel.

4. That's not how making laws works

When President Trump declared a national emergency in an effort to get his border wall built, Junior tried to combat the critics by claiming that no one was given a choice about the Affordable Care Act.

Except that's not at all true, especially in the context of what Junior's pushing here. Congress actually voted on the Affordable Care Act, which was passed by both chambers and then signed into law by then-President Barack Obama (and later upheld by the Supreme Court). This is exactly how a bill is supposed to become a law, even if you don't like it. Naturally, Twitter users lit up his replies.

5. Rage tweets!

Junior shares a lot in common with his father -- it's not just his looks and his love of memes. He also has the same bad habit of tweeting while angry. Such was the case when former Trump fixer/attorney Michael Cohen spilled the Trump tea before the House Oversight Committee. Don Jr. and his brother Eric let loose with some hot Twitter fire.

No idea what he's getting after but it's not the best look for a guy who's repeatedly been mentioned in connection with corruption.

6. That awkward Pornhub meme

Look, we know Trump really loves his kids (well, at least Ivanka), but there's no explaining this one. Pornhub memes are definitely a thing but, frankly, sharing one about your dad is just... weird.

7. Hitting rock bottom on the meme-meter with Joe Biden

When Joe Biden issued a non-apology apology video in April in the lead-up to his 2020 campaign announcement that addressed allegations of inappropriate touching, a right-wing Twitter user created a video showing Biden creeping on himself and then rubbing his own shoulders. The video spread like wildfire, especially among Twitter users on the right, and Trump Jr. was quick to retweet the video to his followers.

Even more infamously, the president shared the same video on his Twitter account which is all very, very rich coming from a guy who was elected despite being caught on tape bragging about sexually assaulting women (not to mention the number of women who have come forward to accuse Trump of harassment and assault).

8. Getting roasted by Colbert

Roasting Don Jr. isn't that hard to do, but when a pro like Stephen Colbert lets loose, it's a special thing to behold.

In this clip, Colbert takes aim at father and son for their various foibles, including Junior's deal to give limited testimony (again) in front of the House Intelligence Committee.

9. A poor historical context

As President Trump complained to ABC's George Stephanopoulos about how badly he feels he's been treated as president, his son logged on to Twitter to agree with him, casting the history books aside to set a new standard.

Anyone with an even passing knowledge of American history knows this is not even remotely true.

All in all, it's been quite a year so far for the younger Don. Now we just have to wait and see what the rest of 2019 has in store.
