Dad cons his way into getting a nice table at a booked restaurant

Legal or not, sometimes all it takes is a quick catfish to get what you want.

After trying to book a table at a restaurant and being told there were no availabilities, a father did the only logical thing: He pretended to be a prime minister of a foreign country. And apparently, it worked.

"My dad wanted to make a reservation at a restaurant and they told him that they were completely booked, minutes later he called back claiming to be the prime minister of Morocco ...," @Ihab8knicks tweeted on Tuesday.

Turns out, Ihab's father's instincts were correct. By pretending to be a political leader in Morocco (presumably former prime minister Abdelilah Benkirane, since they do look like they could be related), they landed a seat in the restaurant, plus plenty of special perks.

"We got the best table in the place and the chef [asked] him to sign a plate and take a pic [with] him," Ihab continued.

Ihab shared a video of his father signing a plate like a practiced politician before taking photographs with the eager employees who looked excited to have a Moroccan dignitary in the building.

Some people who saw the tweet were concerned about identity theft, while others were laughing along with what might just be the scam of the year.

As funny as it is, maybe don't try it without looking up impersonation laws first.
